"the pause" and the three characters
Rinpoche speaks about "doing the 10 seconds" often during daily life to stop and note "This is what's happening now." I find that doing this pause is really helpful to sort of zoom out and view what's going on with some separation/perspective. It can interrupt the snowball effect of some thoughts and emotions.
Being more aware of anicca, dukkha, and anatta has been interesting. It has helped me to, as Rinpoche says, "glide"... to maybe handle potential conflicts differently, to offer more thoughtful observations and even to bring me a laugh or two. In my dream last night I found myself thinking of anicca, which was really surprising! A dream within a dream...
Was wondering if some of the other participants might share how the "10-second" pause or thoughts of anicca, dukkha and anatta have manifested in their daily lives.
