Welcome to the Forum for the 8-week program "Introduction to Buddhism"!

This Forum is intended as a place for community building, conversation and discussion. We have a wide diversity of nationalities, backgrounds, interests and experience among the people that have signed up for the program - there are a lot of fascinating people to meet! As of August 1, we have more than 550 sign-ups from 51 countries (see attached map).

If you are interested in getting to know some fellow Buddhists and non-Buddhists from around the world, please join in! We hope this Forum will be an opportunity for learning, sharing, and hopefully making some new friends!

Please take a moment to introduce yourself and say a little more about what you're hoping to get out of this program.

Alex

Hi everyone, I'm Gayatri from Mumbai, India. I'm a vipassana and ngondrogar practitioner. Also a student of the Nalanda Diploma. IMHO the more one connects with a variety of teachers the more one's insight expands. Here for the community and learning from all of you. Looking forward,

Hi,  My name is Michelle, I am from Calgary, Canada and I very much appreciate the offerings of teachings.

I am looking forward to learning from everyone, I have been studying (and trying to apply) Buddhism for 6 years but have a lifelong interest in people and how we use/or don't use our mind.

Hope to learn and deepen my understanding and connect and converse.

I’ve been interested in Buddhism since grade 9 when I was tasked with a project on it. It’s been a long time since then but over the last two years I’ve been learning about the three jewels and reading books from different traditions. I’m looking to learn more and figure out which tradition or mix of traditions I would like to follow.

Hello everyone! It is a pleasure to be among you, even at a distance. I'm from rio de janeiro. I started to study Buddhism shortly before the pandemic, I didn't have the opportunity for more face-to-face contacts, not even a single retreat. Studies are through reading and courses like this. Doubts are many and there are few opportunities to discuss. I hope this course is the right place for that. A hug

Hi everyone, I am joining from Finland but am from New York.

I am excited for this program. I have been interested in Buddhism since I was a kid, but only really started learning some a few years ago when I switched from a business career to become a Yoga teacher. I look forward to the course. Thank you Alex.

Hi!

Connie from Seattle here.  Have been a Buddhist a long time now, but it's always good to revisit the fundamentals, and Alex is a great teacher.  Looking forward to hearing these talks, and the discussion.  As the great Trungpa Rinpoche would say, 'jolly good'!

Greetings from San Francisco.

I have been fascinated with Buddhism ever since I lived in Bhutan for five years in the 1980s.

I look forward to expanding my understanding of dharma in this course.

Thanks for making it available.
